The complete original LP Lester Young in Paris (Verve), which was Lester's last studio album. He died in the early morning hours of March 15, 1959, only hours after arriving back in New York, at the age of 49. His last years weren't easy, though they remain some of his most fruitful. Along with Charlie Parker and John Coltrane, he remains one of the true masters of post-WW2 saxophone jazz. As a bonus, we have included some rare small group recordings made by Lester at Carnegie Hall in 1953 and 1955. Includes 12-page booklet.
