This is a band which takes many influences on board - Latin rhythms, pop and western soundtracks included. Yet, amazingly, these little Brides manage to capture something uniquely Australian in their music. The second album from the sometimes funny Floyd, it contains their comedy classic $6 Steak & Chips, which features a lounging vocal. But this is a serious (but not too serious) album, with highlights including the folky Jet Lag, plus the Latinesque Chanteuse and Uncivilised Weeper. A student of classical and Flamenco guitar, Mr Vincent moves easily through a range of styles and moods. A winner.
