She is back with one of the most highly anticipated brand new albums of 2011, titled "4".

Among the producers and writers were a mix of legendary old hands as well as MIA producer and recognised artist in his own right as one half of Major Lazer, Diplo, producer Switch who was responsible for the other half of the Major Lazer project and electro-noise pop posterkids, Sleigh Bells. Never one for playing it safe, Knowles has been influenced by the weird, the experimental and the underground to create a mixture of indistinguishably unique tracks for her album 4, separating the R&B Queen above and away from the current brand of racey pop house that seems to be oversaturating the pop world.

The debut single, Run The World (Girls) reminds us why BEYONCE is the queen of self-empowerment anthems. This track is party-hearty feminism at its finest and the risky step of sampling the fantastic hook of Major Lazer's "Pon de Floor" paid off, it makes this song ferocious. Catchy single, 'Countdown' has been critically acclaimed by commentators and BEYONCE herself as her most experimental track to date. You can't pin it anywhere on the genre map specifically, but it is BEYONCE singing with her sass and frenetic swagger that was evident in 'Get Me Bodied' on 'B'day' (2007).

'Love on Top' might always be remembered as the song BEYONCE performed when she chose to debut her baby bump at the 2011 Video Music Awards, but don't let that little piece of pop culture take away from an excellent throw back to the up-tempo tunes of the 1990's R&B. If you have felt the need to defend Queen B's singing abilities, this number that involves six key changes which are climatic to say the least, is the track you have been looking for.

And a little closer to home, 'Rather Die Young' is written by Australia's own Luke Steele of Sleepy Jackson and Empire of the Sun fame. This unlikely pairing sees Steele's influence lending Beyonce a track that is a weird and wonderful combination of electronic, romantic and soulful sounds. This song oozes 70's soul, thanks to an excellent horn section.

I'm a huge fan, so granted I can be biased. But this is undoubtedly the most lyrical, creative and diverse album she has created. IASF was a huge success. But to be honest the quality was lacking. This is definitely one of her better albums if not best. She's taking huge risks and it has definitely paid off. Be sure to support a true artist !!

Amazing album! The songs sound so fresh and the melodies are beautiful. Lots of instruments, great vocal arrangements. The bonus tracks are absolutely amazing and deserve their spot on the main album in my opinion! Very diverse album yet surprisingly cohesive too. Beyonce took some risks with this, and it worked because this album is a stand-out.
