One of the most secretly influential bands of the '60s - in the same way that the Stooges, Velvet Underground, Captain Beefheart and Big Star are influential - the 13th Floor Elevators are considered by many to actually be the first psychedelic band. Their status has risen steadily over the past few decades - despite their material being hard to get at the best of times - to the point that they are much more famous now than they ever were when they were around.
