All The Little Lights' is the much anticipated 3rd official album release from continent hopping troubadour Passenger (AKA Mike Rosenberg). Recorded at Linear studios in Sydney and co-prodcued by Chris Vallejo over the Autumn of 2011 this is an album that has the sound of an artist coming of age. As always, there’s a certain element of the youthful Cat Stevens in the tenor of Mike’s voice that tells you the emotions that drive his songs aren’t very far beneath the surface. Recorded again in Sydney, for the new album, All The Little Lights, Mike was joined once again by a core Australian band that included Boy & Bear drummer Tim Hart, jazz bassist Cameron Undy, who also played on Flight Of The Crow, and keyboards player Stu Hunter, from Katie Noonan & The Captains. If there’s a theme to be drawn from the album it’s not just the usual stock-in-trade of the travelling troubadour – love – but the love of life itself. It’s been a remarkable journey for Rosenberg, a journey that has inspired some of the finest songwriting you’ll hear anywhere, whether on a street corner, a sweaty rock’n’roll room or a concert stage. Listening to him, whether on record or in performance, you can tell he’s having the time of his life, and it’s all there on his new album, All The Little Lights. And the most exciting thing is you just know there’s plenty more to come.

All the little lights

whilst im yet to receive my much anticipated order of this album, i was fortunate to stumble across mike at salamanca market a few weekends ago. the crowd was mesmerized and even as the heavens opened we all stayed firmly listening on. so taken by his music we followed him to a gig which made our weekend. now waiting my cd and off to see him at the corner in melbourne. do yourself a favour and experience his music and joy.

While I haven't heard this CD yet (having not yet been released) I have recently been to a small live concert of Mike Rosenberg performing many of these songs in Eumundi, QLD. Assuming they were similarly performed for the recording, I highly recommend this CD! It was soulful, emotional, joyous and desperately sad at times, but always truly beautiful music for any occasion. Passenger's clear charisma shines through every song and his subtle yet distinctive voice is one of the best in the business. Pre-order this now, I can safely say you won't regret it!

Passenger writes from the heart and all of his music touches your heart. His live performances are nothing short of mind blowing and his CDs are some of the best I have heard. The release of this album is Mike at his best. Quirky, intelligent, witty, emotional and simply amazing. A stunning album start to end. If you have never heard of Passenger do yourself a favour and buy this CD. It will start a love affair you will not regret. Do yourself and even bigger favour and get out to a gig, this is where you will truly fall head over heels.
