Lead singer Mark Gable had ruptured his vocal chords for the pub-rock cause and so the Choirboys had cooled for a couple of years while they convalesced and sought a new record deal. When they finally released Big Bad Noise it went through the roof. The single Run To Paradise shot to Number Three on the Australian charts and stayed there long enough for the album to sell over 100,000 copies. A second hit single, Boys Will Be Boys, made Number 12 and secured Choirboys the support slot for Bon Jovi on their 1987 tour.
