For the most part the material here stems from the 1973 so-called "Detroit Rehearsal" tapes that were recorded in preparation for a nation-wide Iggy & the Stooges tour following the release of the David Bowie-produced "Raw Power" earlier that year. The Stooges at the pinnacle of their musical powers! As a result you get the exciting, archetypical original protopunk tracks, which have influenced contemporary Rock & Roll right up to the present day; all cylinders pumping, cranking out those solid riffs, The Stooges at their peak deliver a terrific sample of rare and alternative studio takes.
