DEMON EDSEL continues its programme of reissues from legendary entertainer BOBBY DARIN. 'Sings Doctor Dolittle', on which he covers all the LESLIE BRICUSE numbers from the film, was his last album for ATLANT IC, issued in 1967 and produced by AHMET ERTEGUN. The bonus track "She Knows" was a non-album single. 'Born Walden Robert Cassotto' was the first of his two folk-protest albums, recorded for his own label DIRECTION, in 1968, in the wake of the success of "If I Were A Carpenter". Much sought-after, this the first time it has ever been released on CD , and the package features rare photos from the era. The album was written entirely by Darin whilst living in a caravan in Big Sur California, a period Darin spent rebuilding his life after several personal disasters, and shows a hitherto unknown side to him.
