Elephant Mountain, the magnetic 1969 album by the San Francisco Bay Area folkies, The Youngbloods, is commonly looked upon as the pinnacle of the legendary combo's abundant eight-year career. Blending pop/rock melodies and lyrics with their good time jug band roots the album is at times reminiscent of the Lovin' Spoonful or Buffalo Springfield. It's the Youngbloods at the top of their game, indelibly writing their names in the ledger of consummate San Francisco rock 'n' roll.
