Throughout the early part of that decade, Rock music had become highly segregated, but with the breakthrough of Living Colour, the Black Rock Coalition was put on the map. From there, the strength of their music and the power of their message grew. With Corey Glover on vocals, Vernon Reid on guitar, Will Calhoun on drums, and Muzz Skillings and later Doug Wimbish on bass, this group of African American musicians elevated Black rock to new heights.
