The first two classic LPs from this Jefferson Airplane spinoff band. In 1969, Grace Slick had to undergo throat surgey, so 'Airplane took a sabbatical. Members Jack Casady, Joey Covington and others wasted no time in assembling Hot Tuna and pursuing a slightly rootsier approach, in the meantime becoming one of the more popular bands of the early '70s. This CD compiles the LPs from 1970 and '72, respectively: the debut live LP and its studio follow-up, which features David Crosby on guest vocals. Classic early '70s boogie.
