Mental As Anything had already formed a strong position for themselves as Australian pop heroes when they released The Nips Are Getting Bigger just prior to this debut album release (the single peaked at Number 16 on the charts). When Get Wet was released in 1979, the band had set their sights on saturating the Australian market with their witty, concise and well crafted pop tunes. And reach the masses they did. Toward the end of 79, Get Wet reached Number 19 in the National Album Charts.
