Raven presents the most comprehensive, multi-label single CD collection covering the acclaimed careers of MOTT THE HOOPLE and singer IAN HUNTER. The Golden Age 1969-1997 is a must for fans of hard-edged rock 'n' roll and outrageous glam-rock. With 77 minutes of superb quality audio, color booklet and informative liner notes. The legendary Mott The Hoople remain one of the best bands to emerge from the fervent UK scene of the 1970s. All their greatest songs are here on this exhilarating collection: the rampaging 'Rock and Roll Queen', the Stonesy swagger of 'Walkin' with a Mountain', the enduring glitter kids' anthem and their biggest hit from 1972 'All the Young Dudes' (UK #3, US #37), written and produced by David Bowie, 'Honaloochie Boogie', 'All the Way From Memphis', 'Roll Away the Stone', 'The Golden Age Of Rock 'n' Roll', 'Saturday Gigs', the rare US single version of 'One of the Boys' and 'Ballad of Mott The Hoople'. By 1974 they were a huge touring attraction in the US but lead singer Ian Hunter struck out on his own with the memorable 'Once Bitten Twice Shy' (UK #14) later a US Top 5 hit for hard rockers Great White. 'Cleveland Rocks' became best known as the theme song to the enormously popular Drew Carey Show. Also includes Hunter's tribute to Mick Ronson 'Michael Picasso'.
