As critically acclaimed and as commercially successful as The Undertones classic debut self-titled LP, their second album, 1980's Hypnotised, featured both the classic 3 minute pop punk of its predecessor (check My Perfect Cousin, There Goes Norman and Whizz Kids) whilst highlighting a new found maturity and sensitivity with tracks like the plaintive Wednesday Week and the stately The Way Girls Talk. Released on the the highly regarded Salvo label (Union Square Music's collector's imprint), This edition has been completely remastered & expanded to 21 tracks. It Includes a selection of single B Sides, Peel Sessions, videos, and a 20 page full colour booklet with bassist Michael Bradley's humorous essay on life in The Undertones. It needs to be said that Hypnotised was indeed that "difficult second album" but the band were right on their game, and delivered a follow-up displaying better song-craft and musicianship, while adding maturity & diversity to their trademark infectious, sense-ofurgency approach.
