City And Colour is Dallas Green from Alexisonfire. With a poignant vocal styling and lyrics that speak of impulse and introspection, Dallas Green affects his audience by offering his own personal testimony.
City And Colour originated when Dallas released a limited edition EP of songs performed on solo acoustic guitar. Wildly circulated on the Internet, the release caused such an overwhelming underground buzz that fans, as far away as Europe and Australia, were emailing the Alexisonfire site asking how to obtain copies.
Taking it all in stride, Dallas remained sincere, and affable, debuting his full-length album titled 'Sometimes' under his solo moniker City And Colour in November 2005. Critically acclaimed solo performances, a special appearance at Burton Cummings' Songwriter's Circle during the 2005 Junos (cited by Media as a highlight of the Junos) and a performance at the 2006 MuchMusic Video Awards, where Dallas won the People's Choice Favourite Canadian Artist award were just icing on the cake. And the cherry on the icing was the award at he recent 2007 Juno Awards (the Canadian Grammys) for Best Alternative Album.
City And Colour's follow-up to 'Sometimes' is 'City and Colour Live', which brings fans front row and centre to experience some of the most memorable moments from sold out tours across Canada. From Vancouver to Halifax, it features 13 live tracks captured on both CD and DVD in a 2 disc set.
