Great New Sound From A Great Band

Cameron on 10.04.2012

It's been almost seven years since their last outing, and yep, it's been worth the wait! I was privy to a pre-release audio review session, and the band have returned to form, with gusto. The album and probably most of the singles they release, may never find themselves in the top ten (amongst Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry), but then, that's kind of the point (hence the appropriately selected album title). Yep, Garbage have everything going against them when you think about it; they are getting older, their music isn't so 'commercial', and they don't conform to a conventional image of a pop-rock band. Yet they manage to create some great tracks that become pretty instantly catchy, whilst also showing their maturity and sophistication at making old sounds new, and new sounds old again.
