Lead track "Diddley" gives the game away before a word is even sung: (sing along now with me 'go Bo Diddley, go Bo Diddley'). It's an angry young white man's version of the blues: it's the sound Dan Brodie had with the Broken Arrows: it's wound tight with anticipation and aggression.
Forget the fact that they're a 2 piece band banging out 'the blues' (that namecheck will lead you down the wrong path) - what is surprising is how, unlike the Black Keys or the White Stripes, these guys sound like a full rock band: perhaps proving what I always thought - there's 2 people too many in most bands!
