The Church's debut album Of Skins and Heart, was released in 1981 when the Sydney-based outfit was just over a year old and freshly signed to EMI. In terms of what was to quickly follow, this was rough and ready stuff that immediately placed The Church amongst other up-and-coming Australian mainstream rockers of the day like Cold Chisel, INXS, Midnight Oil, Icehouse and The Models.
