Emerson, Lake & Palmer are a progressive rock super-group formed in 1970 by bassist/guitarist/vocalist Greg Lake (formerly of King Crimson), keyboardist Keith Emerson (from The Nice) and drummer Carl Palmer (formerly of Atomic Rooster and later a founding member of Asia). E.L.P were one of the most commercially successful progressive rock bands of the 70?s and have sold over 40 million albums to date. Their mix of classical and rock music elements struck a chord with music fans and by 1974 E.L.P were one of the biggest touring bands in the world.
