Silvertone is the first album by Chris Isaak, released in 1985, and named after his three-piece backup band. The album is spearheded by the song "Gone Ridin'" as featured in the 1986 David Lynch film Blue Velvet, the first of many Isaak/Lynch collaborations. The album introduced to the masses Isaak's trademark rootsy rockabilly retro stylings; seemingly from a time when Elvis was singing about his Blue Suede Shoes and Roy Orbison was Cryin'. A superb introduction to what continues to be a long and successful career.
