A Smile is the debut album from Dappled Cities Fly. It was recorded over two fortnight sessions, 12 months apart, 2003-2004 at Razors Edge Studios, produced by Jonathan Burnside. Additional tracking was recorded by the band at Rostrevor towards the end of the second session.
A Remix EP version of the 2004 album A Smile. After a year in the making, the EP was released through Revolution Record on 18 April 2006. Each of the guest remix artists has at some point over the past 12-months shared a stage, a rider, a yellow raincoat, a pot of tea or at least a shot of liquor with the Dappled Cities Fly chaps across countless tours, festivals and backyard BBQ’s. Dappled Cities Fly refused to art-direct ‘A Crooked Smile’, instead preferring to mark their respect for the remix artists by encouraging total expression. The ideas the artists presented were inspired by many different places, times and themes, and vary accordingly.
