Debut album for Narooma-born, Melbourne-based singer Russack, formerly known as Lola Flash. Follows jazz-influenced EP Peasants (2010). Self-produced, Sounds of Our City was recorded at Melbourne's Headgap studio over four days, and mixed by Jake Phillips. Features Cameron Potts (Baseball, Cuba Is Japan) on drums, Tim Picone on bass and longtime collaborator Alec Marshall on guitar, as well as guest artists Chris Altmann (pedal steel), Kid Sam's Kieran Ryan (vocals) and Jessica and Nick Venables of Jessica Says on strings. The album was borne from Emma's first experiences living in Melbourne following a year of travelling through South America.
