Van Morrison, also known as "Van the Man" to his fans, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and musician. Morrison started his professional career as a teenager in the late 1950s. He has received several major music awards in his career, including six Grammy Awards, inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Irish Music Hall of Fame. He has also won a Brit Award. Many of his recordings are widely viewed as amongst the greatest ever produced. His live performances are known for being very atmospheric and intense.
