In the UK 1955, Winston Churchill finished up as PM, Ruth Ellis become the last woman ever to be executed, Donald Campbell broke the world water speed record and Stirling Moss wins hisfirst British Grand Prix. Much memorable music was also made that year and many of the most popular hits are on THEN 1955. Although it includes all UK and many US chart-toppers, this series is not constrained by chart position, instead aiming to present the most 'memorable' sounds of each year.
