From 1969, Ummagumma was the band's first double album and has one of their most iconic cover images. Ummagumma is an eclectic mix of both live and studio recordings. The new Discovery version presents the original double album, digitally remastered by James Guthrie and reissued with newly designed Digipak and a new 16 page booklet designed by Storm Thorgerson. Since 1967 Pink Floyd have produced one of the most outstanding and enduring catalogues in the history of recorded music.

You might get ripped off...

Ummagumma on 13.10.2011

I'm gonna go song for song here (if you don't mind) After the leaving of Syd Barrett a year earlier; Pink Floyd tried to be just as good without him as they already were. But, this of course, failed immensely. LIVE ALBUM [DISC 1] This features some of the best of Pink Floyd's early era. with songs 1-3 being doubled in length and other things "Astronomy Domine" features a keyboard solo even though you can't hear it most of the time "Careful with that Axe, Eugene" apart from Rogers inane screaming; this is the only album source of this song "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" features another keyboard solo. Only more haunting that the first "Saucerful of Secrets" is only a minute longer; but is extremely more powerful and ear-shattering STUDIO ALBUM [DISC 2] The idea for this train wreck came from keyboardist Richard Wright that one half would feature the whole band and the other would feature the band members with their own material...........
