The album will take you on a journey through the band's amazing music career, combining decades of history in one album with hit songs, such as Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl, Crazy and Electric Blue that have won fans all over the world. Connecting with the history of the music, the packaging of the album will also include a 12 page booklet with images of the band from each album era and single cover artwork. Included among the musicians who have been a part of the ICEHOUSE line-up live or on record are the acclaimed bass player, Guy Pratt, who toured with the band for the Primitive Man and Sidewalk albums, soundscape artist and production genius Brian Eno who featured on their 1986 release Measure for Measure and beloved Australian sax-and-song man, Joe Camilleri.

Great CD - Terrible DVD

JR on 03.12.2011

I bought the Deluxe Edition because I wanted to see all the Icehouse videos as well listen to the CD. I must say I was bitterly disappointed. This is probably the worst mastered DVD I've ever seen. The quality of the videos is atrocious, and most of it is related to the mastering. e.g. the videos are in 4:3 aspect ratio but for some reason mastered in 16:9 with large black bars down the sides. Effectively this means about 27% of the pixels are wasted - pixels which should have been used to improve the quality of the transfer. Additionally, there is a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital track on the DVD, which is completely pointless. These videos were never made with surround sound! I'd rather the extra bitrate used up by this track go to either LPCM audio or improving the video bitrate. I just wish I could return it for a refund and get the normal CD version. Okay it's only $5 difference but that's $5 I could have put toward something worthwhile.
