Recorded at the Jazz Open Stuttgart in 2009 to a sold-out audience of nine thousand people, this DVD features a unique performance by Katie Melua, her band and the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra. Conducted by Mike Batt, the set includes highlights from Katie's first three chart topping albums 'Call Off The Search', 'Piece By Piece' and 'Pictures' including 'The Closest Thing To Crazy', 'Nine Million Bicycles' and 'If You Were A Sailboat'. Katie remembers the concert as being a very special night explaining "This was the first full concert I have performed with an orchestra and I consider it one of my favourite musical experiences. I am used to performing with the band but singing and playing with an orchestra and all the depth and richness that brings was amazing." Whilst many of the songs were originally recorded with an orchestra, some of the songs, such as 'Spider's Web', were specifically scored by Mike Batt for this one-off event.

Melbourne rock band The Vasco Era features vocalist and guitarist Sid O’Neil, his brother and bassist Ted O’Neil, and drummer Michael Fitzgerald. Hailing from the coastal town of Apollo Bay, the boys recall playing to packed out living rooms before hitting actual stages around Australia. Two albums, several national tours and gigs at major festivals followed, with highlight performances including support slots for The Black Keys, The Hold Steady and The Violent Femmes. Only one of the three members lives in a house – the others stay with their friends, girlfriends, parents, friends’ parents and girlfriends’ parents. One day they’d all like to live in Spain. The Vasco Era’s third album, independently released in October this year, captures the band in their prime. ‘Child Bearing Hips’ is the first single from The Vasco Era’s self-titled album.
