Verlaine's follow-up to Dreamtime, has the distinction of being his most underappreciated album, which makes this high-quality reissue a great excuse to re-evaluate this excellent and beguiling album. Words from the Front may have been ignored in the US, but this 1982 release, with its superb guitar work, drew such a rapturous response from the English press that Verlaine actually took up residence there, influencing a whole generation of British bands all over again.
