Newly signed to DOWNTOWN RECORDS, 'The Ecstatic' is most MOS DEF's 4th album after groundbreaking efforts like 1999's 'Black On Both Sides' and is his most innovative yet. The list of producers is astounding: MAD LIB, CHAD HUGO (N.E.R.D.), GEORGIA ANNE MULDROW, DJ PRESERVATION, Frenchman MR. FLASH and there is even a track from the late, great J DILLA.

Mos Def is also of course an Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor with roles in The Woodsman, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, 16 Blocks, Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Be Kind Rewind, Monster's Ball & The Italian Job.

Many have argued that Mos Def may have lost direction with his last few albums as he started fighting his then label over commercial concerns and artistic direction. But there hasn't been as much excitement for a Mos Def solo album than for 'The Ecstatic', which has fans sure he will release his most complete album yet. He has been working on it for a number of years and has made exactly the album he wanted.
