Originating from the hip grinding basements of the Baltimore Bass movement, NAEEM JUWAN AKA SPANK ROCK linked up with the DIPLO powered HOLLERTRONIX crew and began crafting the type of live performances that have become underground legend. 2006 saw Spank Rock unleash his debut album release 'YoYoYoYoYo', with production partner ALEX XXXCHANGE EPTON and DJs CHRIS DEVLIN & RONNIE DARKO. Tracks like "Bump", "Rick Rubin" & "Sweet Talk" became party anthems and Spank Rock were invited to tour alongside everyone from BECK to BJORK to the BEASTIE BOYS, as well as becoming a live favourite on the Australian festival circuit. He has been asked to make records with KYLIE MINUOGUE, SANTIGOLD & MOS DEF and featured on the track "The Bike Song" on MARK RONSON'S 2010 album release 'Record Collection'. Mark Ronson returned the favour by producing "#1 Hit" on 'Everything...', while much of the remaining production on comes from German electro producer BOYZ NOIZE. Other tracks are produced by XXXCHANGE, POPO (MAD DECENT), LEIF (DAS RACIST), CHRIS DEVLIN, TYLER POPE (!!!) and SAVAGE SKILLS - the latter who were behind club smash "Bad Gal" with ROBYN. Guest vocalists include SANTIGOLD on "Car Song" and New Orleans SISSY BOUNCE star BIG FREEDIA on "Nasty". And "nasty" is the word when it comes to the lyrical content. But that doesn't stop him taking lyrical aim at targets ranging from the pope, Jay Leno and the GFC. Despite much of the hype around dance music from Baltimore having faded years ago, Spank Rock has dropped an album that people can freak to now and forever. The Australian version features two bonus tracks.
