There are really only a few household names in the rap game. One of the biggest is ICE CUBE. Since his days in the notorious N.W.A. in the late 80s, right through his multi platinum solo albums like "Amerikkka's Most Wanted", "The Predator? and 2008?s "Raw Footage" he keeps it raw & uncut. His fan base has been consistently large, even growing in recent years. Cube on "I Am The West": "this shit is cocky, no apologies, West Coast gangsta shit. I can't help it. That's what I do". He feels that West Coast rap lost its identity trying to appeal to a broader crowd. Not anymore.
