Melbourne native Fluent Form cemented his place in the local Hip Hop scene with his long player 'The Furnace' in 2009, which also brought along the official introduction of the powerhouse Independent label Crate Cartel. Gaining praises from his peers and veteran heavyweights, Fluent stayed prolific, touring the country and penning guest verses for some of Australia s finest emcees including Bias B, Dialectrix, Ciecmate, Bigfoot his fellow Crate Cartel label mates and many more ,as well as sharing the stage and opening for international acts such as Ghostface Killah, Ill Bill, Chino XL, Masta Ace and DJ Premier.
In 2011, Fluent returns with his latest instalment titled 'Word Merchant'. This is Fluent's most diverse work to date. The production duties are handled entirely by fellow label co-founder, Geko, who over 15 songs, provides Fluent with a cohesive yet varied range of compositions perfectly complimenting the unrelenting distinctive and complex style he has become renowned for. A stellar line up of guests contribute their talents, each one strategically picked to bring their unique sound and abilities. The album is perfectly balanced with heavy conceptual tracks like Judas Iscariot, Default Options and Jezebel's Conquests, to tongue in cheek playful songs like Riot and Cloud Of Dust. Tracks like Gravity and When I know, invite the listener into the mind of a sometimes troubled soul while Fluent displays the art of story telling on Handshakes. Add in anthems like Keep It Natural, Hanzo Swords and Main Event with hard hitting Boom Bap gems like Coup De Grace and Word Merchant, throw in two monstrous Posse cuts and what you're left with is an epic, personal and at times confronting body of work, sure to further confirm why Fluent Form is one of the countries most exciting talents.
